Sussex Thunder searches for New Youth Team Head Coach
by admin on Jul.18, 2010, under News, Press Release
The Sussex Thunder are looking for a new Head Coach to lead their Youth team programme in 2011.
Since the Thunder was promoted to the premiership division in 2008, the Club has been working very hard to get a youth team programme together over the last two years and is determined to succeed in 2011. We have all the equipment necessary thanks to a recent grant from the Youth Opportunities fund, a new home field and a team of willing coaches and admin staff but are looking for someone with the experience, passion and skills to lead the programme.
We are looking for someone with experience in both coaching kitted American Football and assisting in running or managing a programme of some kind. Responsibilities will include:
- Devising and implementing overall team strategy and tactics
- Co-ordinating the day to day running of the youth team (with support from the Club committee)
- Managing a team of coaches and admin staff
- Assisting with the recruitment and retention of new players
- The health and safety of all participants.
All successful applicants will need to meet the statutory safeguarding process in place at the club and be registered and qualified to the appropriate level as laid down by the British American Football Coaches Association.
If you are interested in the position, please contact vice chairman Eber Kington: recruitment@sussexthunder.com
Alternatively, if the Head Coach role is not one you feel you are interested in but still wish to become involved in other ways, please contact the club for more information.
