BAFL Division 1 Champions, Sussex Thunder, kick off their 2009 season with their first training session and Rookie day on Sunday 1st February. Taking place at the newly built facility at Bewbush Leisure centre in Crawley, the team hopes to kick off the 2009 campaign with a bang.

Head Coach Len Scott has been working hard in the off-season to assemble a Coaching staff with the ability to ensure we compete well at the Premiership Level and also begin knocking on the door of likes of London Blitz and Coventry Cassidy Jets for the National title. Coach Scott had this to say “With the right amount of hard work by the players and coaches I think we will do very well in the 2009 season. We may well surprise many people as, undoubtedly, we will be considered as underdogs, but, that is a nice place to start from”.

Player recruitment is also going well with lots of new players, both rookie and those with experience, joining the 2009 campaign. This, combined with the talent of the returning squad, will certainly put Thunder in a promising position come May.

1. Exit the M23 at Junction 11 and take the A264 to Horsham.
2. Go straigh over the 1st round about.
3. At the 2nd roundabout thake the 2nd exit into Sullivan Drive.
4. Follow Sullivan Drive round to the right and at the big roundabout take the 5th exit into Breezehurst Drive
5. Bewbush Leisure Centre is on your right and you can park in the car park.
6. The new facility and field is behind the Leisure Centre accessible by a path to the right of the centre itself.
